Breastfeeding Support
I work in East Cork, Cork City, North Cork, West Waterford and South Tipperary for breastfeeding support as a Lactation Consultant. I can call out to your home and provide support to you after you come home from hospital, I will do my best to see you hopefully the same day, or within 24 hours of your enquiry.
Home Birth
I offer home birth services in Co Cork only, and I cover East Cork, North Cork and Cork City.
About me
My name is Caroline Corcoran, and I am a UK-qualified midwife with experience in a midwifery-led birthing unit and high-risk delivery suite in the UK, as well as considerable postnatal experience both in the UK and Ireland. Since March 2017 I have been a home birth midwife in Cork.
I am passionate about supporting women to have the birth they want. My aim is for the women I care for to be well-informed so they can make the best choices for themselves around pregnancy, birth, infant feeding and parenting. I would like to see more women joining the home birth scheme, so they can also enjoy the gold standard service that we are providing. I especially enjoy working with first-time mums, making sure that they get all the support they need in navigating their first pregnancy and birth.
If you choose to join the free home birth scheme in Cork, I will be looking after you all the way through your pregnancy, the birth, and for two weeks afterwards. I am a Board-certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), and can give excellent support to you in your breastfeeding journey. We have over 90% breastfeeding rate on the Home Birth Scheme. I provide expert breastfeeding support to women on the Home Birth Scheme, and also privately to those women who are having difficulties. I also offer one-to-one Antenatal Breastfeeding Preparation classes privately.

Writing
On the blog, I share some advice and experience around birth, and particularly around preparing for labour and the arrival of the baby!
"Blessed with continuous care up to 14 days after the birth from the same woman, a woman who took the time to learn about me and my body, my history and who listened closely to the wishes I had and the words that had nothing to do with birth."
